Introduction

HeChinese Study Method is a completely new way to learn Chinese, it starts from 25 Characters (一コ匚又王，丨凵冂口日，十土艹木米，丿亻人女犭，丶冫氵火心) , not from PinYin as traditional way.

Starting from PinYin to learn Chinese is not an effective way, actually it is a wrong way.

Firstly, since PinYin is written in English letters, so foreign students read PinYin in English tones.

Secondly, starting with and relying on PinYin leads students afraid of Chinese Characters/words, as a result many students are not able to read Chinese.

《和码汉字教学法》是一种全新的汉字教学方法，简单，快速，高效，是从25个字形字母入手学习，而不是从拼音入手。

从拼音入手的汉字学习法是低效率的，甚至是错误的。

第一汉语拼音字母多数与英文字母一样，这容易让外国学生用英语音来学汉语语音，形成“洋腔洋调”，不易形成独立的汉语发音系统。

第二学生学会拼音后，就形成对汉字字形的抵触情绪，就造成了多数外国学生，怕学汉字，学不会中文阅读。

HeChinese study method have 3 steps in learning Chinese writing, typing, speaking and reading.

1. Master Chinese Writing & Typing

Step 1: Getting complete knowledge & skills of Chinese writing & typing through HeChinese coding system in 4~6 hours for adults.

字形教学方法：采用“和码汉字字形知识与技术”进行汉字字形教学（外国成年人，4~6小时）。

it starts learning from 4 strokes: 一丨丿丶，these 4 strokes then extend to 5 columns * 5 rows matrix of characters.

25 characters are divided to 5 columns by their first strokes, characters in same column are arranged from top to bottom by their complexities.

25 Chinese Characters

Using these 25 characters to compose 50 words, to learn the concepts of Chinese word forming, writing, and typing.

In 4~6 hours (for adults), students will get full knowledge and skills of Chinese words' writing and typing.

2. Speek directly from Chinese words

Step 2: Speaking directly from Chinese words, creating a new and independent Chinese pronunciation system in 10 hours 50 words.

字音教学方法：采用直读语音教学法进行字音教学，以建立独立的汉语语音发音系统（10小时50个单字）。

At beginning, speaking every Chinese sound is a difficult task for foreigners, since every sound needs a new pronouncing mechanism, each pronouncing mechanism requires many times of practice to form.

In Chinese, normally every word's sound is combined with 1 initial and 1 final sound, there are only 23 initials and 24 finals in Chinese pronunciation system.

So by practicing 50 words sounds, student can practice 50 initials and 50 finals, which roughly include 23 initials and 24 finials twice. Then almost every Chinese pronouncing mechanism will been well practiced twice.

With intensive training, all foreign students can pronounce these Chinese sounds, and can gradually build up a new & independent Chinese pronunciation system.

In the first 10 hours, 5 lessons 50 words, which are from text book "HeBook1", students will focus on Chinese pronunciation using web applications and with teacher's intensive help.

3. Recite Sentence to Remember Sounds & Meanings

Step 3: By reciting short sentences to remember the sounds and meanings of words. Studying 10 words, 15 phrases and 1 dialogue in each lesson.

字音字义记忆方法：通过熟读背诵单字短句，来记忆单字的音与义（每课一句）。

From lesson 6, students will spend more time to remember the words' sound and meaning, students need to recite a short sentence for each lesson, like "一二三四五，你我他她们" in lesson one.

By reciting a short sentence to remember words' shape, sound and meaning all together.

Reading text book to learn phrases which are formed with already known words.

HeBook1 includes 25 lessons, 272 words, 340 phrases and 25 dialogues, normally foreign students need 40 hour lessons to finish HeBook1, then they will have solid capability to read Chinese books, to speak and communicate in a native Chinese tone, and will feel confident to further Chinese study.

第一个40个学时（1~2个月），外国学生能掌握系统的汉字字形知识与技术，学会272个单字，350词组的听说读写，学习25个对话，掌握初级中文阅读与汉语交流能力。

Contents & Goals

HeChinese study method includes following main contents(40 * 2 = 80 hours):

First Session (40 hours):

1. Chinese writing and typing knowledge & skills (6~10 hours)

Enable to write & type every Chinese word.

2. HeBook1 (30 hours)

Learning text book "HeBook1", HeBook1 includes 25 lessons, 272 words, 340 phrases and 25 dialogues.

Reaching approximately vocabulary level of Chinese element school grade 1, HSK level 3.

Second Session (40 hours):

1. PinYin (10 hours)

Study PinYin, spell PinYin, and pronounce new words.

2. HeBook2 (30 hours)

Learn text book "HeBook2", HeBook2 includes 25 lessons, 342 words, 420 phrases and 25 dialogues.

Reaching approximately vocabulary level of Chinese element school grade 2, HSK level 4.

一、汉字字形知识与字形使用技术（6~10小时）　　

较熟练地掌握汉字字形知识，掌握汉字的书写与字形使用(输入)方法。

学会25课共272个单字，350个词组的听说读写，25个对话。达到中国小时一年级的识字水平。

第二阶段（40学时）：　　

一、汉语拼音简易教学（6~10小时）

学会汉语拼音字母，字音拼读与标注方法。　　

二、《和码中文》第二册（30小时）

学会25课共342个单字，420个词组的听说读写，25篇短文。达到中国小时二年级的识字水平。

Study Tools & Materials

HeChinese study is with computer applications, text books, flashcards and with teacher’s intensive guide.

Course Schedule

80 hours Quick Chinese language course (two sessions * 40 hours):

Adults course, each time 2 hours.

1. Full time course (1 month)

5 days a week, morning and afternoon, 4 hours a day.

4 weeks a month, total hours: 4 weeks * 20 hours a week = 80 hours in a month.

2. Half time course (2 months)

5 days a week, morning or afternoon, 2 hours a day.

8 weeks for 2 months, total hours: 8 weeks * 10 hours a week = 80 hours in 2 months.

3. 3 times a week (3 months)

3 times a week, 6 hours per week.

13 weeks in 3 months, total hours: 13 weeks * 6 hours a week = 78 hours in 3 months.

成人教学，每次上课2个小时

1、全脱产学习（1个月）

每周5天，上午加下午，每天4小时学习。

4周（1个月）完成： 4周 * 每周20小时 = 共80小时（1个月）

2、半脱产学习（2个月）

每周5次课，每次2小时。

8周（约两个月）完成： 8周 * 每周10小时 = 共80小时（2个月）

3、每周3次课（3个月）

每周3次课，每次2小时，每周6小时；

13周（3个月）完成： 13周 * 每周6小时 = 共78小时（3个月）
